Wheel Stamping

Engineering, Experience, Excellence

The Daisy Wheel consists of a round tool carrier which holds the individual letter / number stamps. These are rotated by a step motor to the marking position and then driven into the material to be marked by a striking cylinder. Even with relatively rough surfaces (bad cut, scale) a legible impression remains, which in hot carbon steel can be deeper than 3mm.

This process (formerly also known as RH - Rotary Head) is used for hot products such as slabs, billets or for forged products such as railway wheels.

We offer this process not only as standard with a conventional linear drive but also guided by an industrial robot. This means that several sides of a product can be marked with only one machine. Furthermore, special lettering patterns - bent, as required for railway wheels, for example - can be achieved without any special effort.
